Scripture: Mark 5:1–20  |  Key Verses: 18–20

Introduction

  1. Timeless Biblical Truths…
    • We are saved only by God's grace through the Lord Jesus.
    • We are set free from sin and demonic possessions/oppressions by the power of God in Christ Jesus.
  2. Authority of Jesus Christ… Matthew 28:20.
    • 'All authority…' in heaven and on earth has been given unto me.
    • There is no authority greater than Christ Jesus.
  3. 'All Authority…' Mark 5:1–13.
    • Recognized by the demons…
    • Revered by the demons…
    • Demonstrated…
  4. Christ Jesus and the demoniac… Mark 5:14–20.
    • Set right. Vs. 15.
      • Jesus set his mind at peace.
        Isaiah 26:3
      • The demons controlled his mind. Jesus broke their power.
    • Set Free. Vs. 12–15.
      • Free from the demon's torment.
      • Free from sin and power of sin.
      • Only Jesus can set us free from demons.
    • Set Apart. Vs. 18–20.
      • 'Go.'
      • Set apart to serve.
      • Set apart unto God.
      • Set apart to tell…
  5. The demoniac's response… Vs. 18.
    • He had a desire to follow Jesus… a true sign of genuine conversion…
    • He desired/longed to follow Jesus.
  6. Jesus' Command… Vs. 19.
    'Jesus did not let him…'

A. Go… Home — Vs. 19

God said…

  • Abraham… Go and offer Isaac as a sacrifice…
  • Moses… Go to Pharaoh. — Exodus 3:10.
  • Isaiah… Go and tell them. — Isaiah 6:9.

Jesus Christ said…

  • 'Go to your family…'

Holy Spirit said…

  • Philip – go to the road… Acts 8:26/29.

Christ Jesus is saying to you…

  • 'Go Home to your Family…'
  • Tell them and show them what God has done for you.

Today… Christ Jesus is saying to you…

  • 'Go Home…'
  • Tell your Family and others what the Lord Jesus has done for you.
  • Jesus said… 'I will be with you…' – Assurance of His presence.
