Introduction: The Background

Genesis 39:6b–7

Joseph's situation made him vulnerable to temptation.

  1. Joseph was isolated from family and friends.
  2. Joseph was probably lonely and discouraged.
  3. Joseph's righteousness had brought little reward.
  4. Joseph was both competent and handsome.
  5. A powerful woman made repeated attempts to seduce Joseph.
